About North Bay Farm Veterinary Services

North Bay Farm Veterinary Services is an entirely mobile large animal veterinary service based out of Petaluma, California. We were founded in 2022 by Dr. Scott Cantor. We serve the greater North Bay region including the counties of Sonoma, Marin, Napa, Solano and San Mateo. We provide service to production farms, farmstead operations and those with large animal pets.

About North Bay Farm Veterinary Services

Our underlying goal is to help improve the overall health of our herds, flocks and individual animals through disease prevention. We work closely with our clients and provide them with the knowledge to prevent disease from occurring rather than just treating negative outcomes. Hence, client education is at the core of our practice. Whether you are a commercial producer or a first time large animal pet owner, you can expect the same level of attention, dedication and high quality veterinary medicine.

Dr. Scott Cantor

Dr. Scott Cantor grew up in the beautiful state of New Jersey. He attended Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Cell Biology. Dr. Cantor continued his education at St. George’s School of Veterinary Medicine in Grenada. Over his summers he worked and interned for several dairy farms.

In 2015, Dr. Cantor partook in Cornell University’s Summer Dairy Institute, a training program for dairy veterinarians. Dr. Cantor completed his clinical training at Iowa State University in 2016 and began working at Azores Veterinary Practice in Turlock in 2016. Here he focused on dairy herd health and small ruminant work.

Seeing an opportunity to serve a wonderful community of farmers and large animal clients in Sonoma County, Dr. Cantor opened North Bay Farm Veterinary Services in early 2022. His professional interests include dairy records analysis, calf management, milk quality, and transition health troubleshooting, and small ruminant surgery.

Dr. Cantor lives in Petaluma with his partner Claire and their mischievous hound-dog named Penny. When away from work you can find Dr. Cantor hiking in the mountains, jamming to some heady tunes, or agonizing over his beloved New York sports teams; the Jets and the Mets. Dr. Cantor is always happy to sit down with a tasty brew and talk about his favorite subject – dairy cows.

Dr. Cantor is a proud member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Association of Bovine Practitioners, and the American Association of Small Ruminant Practitioners.
